5 Questions About CoolSculpting

1. What is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is a non-invasive fat removal procedure which produces permanent results. It is the only non-invasive method of fat removal which is backed by scientific research. CoolSculpting can be applied to many areas of the body including tummy, love handles, inner and outer thighs, arms, and back.

The CoolSculpting applicator uses a vacuum to suction the targeted area into the handpiece which then cools this area to temperatures which are low enough to kill fat cells. After the required time, about 30 minutes to an hour, the vacuum releases the area, and the destroyed fat cells will be eliminated by your body in the natural way.

CoolSculpting is suitable for pockets of fat, in specific areas. For a larger volume of fat removal or to sculpt and define areas of the body, liposuction is still the preferred option.

5. Does CoolSculpting hurt?

Most patients experience mild to no discomfort while using the CoolSculpting machine. No anesthesia is needed, and most patients sit back and read, work on their laptops or listen to music while the procedure is taking place. Once the CoolSculpting applicator is removed you can be on your way, back to work and normal activities immediately.
